It’s our favorite season of the year…silly season! That time of the year when rumors are swirling about who’s moving where and we’re all at the edge of our seats to find what actually ends up happening. And here are the hottest rumors on the grid.
Possibly the biggest rumor of the summer, and it's certainly one that would shake up the grid. Charles Leclerc is one of the most talented drivers on the circuit, and he's currently under contract with Ferrari until 2024. However, there have been reports that he's unhappy with the team's performance, forcing him to look outside the scarlet garage. Red Bull is one of the teams linked with Leclerc, and it would be a major coup for them if they could sign him. Imagine having two leading drivers in that beast of a car!
Lando Norris, currently under contract with McLaren until 2025, has apparently been approached by several teams. In fact, every team on the grid! Ferrari and Red Bull are both said to be interested in Norris, and he's also been linked with Mercedes and Aston Martin. It's unclear where Norris will end up, but he's definitely one of the most sought-after drivers on the grid. Will he finally reunite with Carlos?
Valtteri Bottas is another driver who could be on the move…out of the sport. He's currently under contract with Alfa Romeo until the end of the season, but the grapevine has it that the Finn could retire from Formula 1. Bottas has said that he's not sure what he'll do after his contract expires, but he's hinted that he could be interested in a career in rallycross.
The Smooth Operator at Ferrari could well be on his way to Audi after his contract at
the Maranello-based team runs out in 2024. But with Ferrari being his dream team, and Audi just starting out, will he really say goodbye to the prancing horse so soon?
This is a rumor that's been making the rounds on social media, and it would undoubtedly be exciting for fans of both. Holland is notorious for giving out spoilers AND being a Formula 1 fan, it might just be the only true rumor! There have been reports that he's in talks to play a role in the upcoming F1 movie, which Apple TV+ is producing. A crossover that even Marvel cannot match!
This is just the beginning of the silly season though. We’ll see you on the other side!
